Thoughts on Love: A Valentine's Day Prayer

On Valentine’s Day this year, my heart was heavy for many friends and family members who were hurting in love at the time. I made this post on Instagram. It was one of my first posts on social media, so I wanted to save it from the depths of Instagram and share it with you guys here.

Today is Valentine’s Day 2019. This Valentine’s Day has me thinking about love on a deeper level than just hearts and flowers. My mind is just swirling with the different ways love is being interpreted today.

People whose love for a child is what keeps them going every. single. day. Whether it's a child you already have that you are sending love to, a child that God has not yet blessed you with, a child you have lost in some way, or a child that you are grasping to hold on to. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

People who are praying with all the love in their hearts for a loved one. Whether they are lost in despair, addiction, grief or illness. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

People who are coming to terms with the loss of a love, whether by death or just the happenings of life. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

People who are learning to love themselves, to hold on to that love so they can spread more out into the world. Keep pushing. Keep choosing love. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

People who are waiting for love, Who push on doing life on their own. The ones who refuse to settle or let a relationship define who they are. The ones who are yearning for arms around them. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

People who have found their one true, earthly love. The one you keep choosing every single day. The one whose hand is always there for you to hold. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

People who are choosing love over everything. Who seek truth over fear, and faith over anxiety. The one's whose hearts bleed for the world, who keep wearing them on their sleeves, in spite of everything. I see you. I am feeling this love with you.

This Valentine's Day, I feel very reverent. I am sure I forgot someone, Some love that needed mentioning. Today, my focus is on those I care about....and every single one of those statements above, all the commas, all the spaces in between, are a prayer from me to someone I know who is going through that exact feeling. If you are feeling love differently today, please share below. Let us share your love with you.
